Rock My Crown
Life is a wonder as I sit and ponder.
Wishing, reminiscing, ready to do the dishing.
In the U. S. of A, equality and liberty for all,
Or maybe justice and liberty for some, a select few.
It’s only true- depends on your hue.
Melanin popping, folks sobbing, bullets not stopping.
Society tries to hold me back, keep me down, but still I rock my crown.
Beautiful, intelligent black woman.
Keep my head held high, never sigh.
Reach for the sky, say I.
Keep it moving, refusing defeat.
‘Cause I can’t be beat.
Society tries to hold me back, keep me down,
But still I rock my crown.
Beautiful intelligent black woman.
Must I say it again.
Doing all I can.
A strong, beautiful, intelligent black woman,
In the U. S. of A the ‘freedom’ land.
Justice and liberty for some- maybe a few.
Depending on your hue, different shades reap rewards,
Others feel the sword.
But still I rock my crown,
strive for nothing but the best.
Washington, Grant step aside, make room for Queen Bee.
Here I am, Here I be, better get used to me
Strong Black Queen A G.
